Knicks guard Jeremy Lin hasn't appeared on the sports page much of late; he hasn't appeared in a game since March 24 due to a torn meniscus in his left knee.
But today, he's making an appearance in a very different sort of publication. Time Magazine has named Lin one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World for 2012. Lin's write-up was penned by U.S. Secretary of Education - and fellow Harvard man - Arne Duncan, who called Lin's story " a great lesson for kids everywhere because it debunks and defangs so many of the prejudices and stereotypes that unfairly hold children back."
Lin also made a contribution to the list, writing the entry about new Jets quarterback Tim Tebow.
Lin had surgery on April 2 to repair a small tear in the meniscus of his left knee. He might be able to return this season if the Knicks advance beyond the first round of the playoffs.
