We won't have full playoff schedules until tomorrow, as many of the first-round matchups have yet to be determined. But the NBA has informed the Bulls, Heat, Thunder and Pacers that their series will start this Saturday, April 28.
The Bulls will be playing the Sixers or the Knicks, depending on the outcome of Thursday's games... if the Knicks win or the Sixers lose, it'll be Knicks vs. Heat and Bulls vs. Sixers. If the Knicks lose and Sixers win, reverse those matchups.
The Thunder will be facing either Dallas (if the Nuggets beat Minnesota tonight) or the Nuggets (if Minnesota wins).
Indiana's series is the only one with an opponent at this point. The third-seed Pacers will face the Magic; Orlando clinched the six seed with last night's win over the Bobcats.
The other four first-round series will tip off on Sunday. The Spurs will host a series vs. the Utah Jazz, and the Lakers will host another against either Denver or Dallas.
For the other two matchups, we know the teams, but not the host city. The four/five series in the East will feature Boston and Atlanta. Boston is the four because they won the Atlantic Division, but home court advantage will go to the team with the best record. If Atlanta wins or Boston loses, the Hawks will have home court... if the Hawks lose and the Celtics win, they'll tip off Sunday in Boston.
Memphis will host the other four/five series if the Grizzlies can beat the Magic tonight. If not, the Clippers get the four seed and home court. That would create some interesting logistic problems, as the Clippers share a home court with the Lakers, who are also supposed to play on Sunday.
