Miami Wins Game Three Takes 21 Series Lead

Oklahoma City had another impressive third-quarter rally, but Miami staged a run of their own, overcoming a 10-point deficit and taking a 2-1 lead in the NBA Finals.

LeBron James led the Heat with 29 points and 14 rebounds, while Dwyane Wade chipped in 25 points, seven boards and seven assists.

LeBron James Attempts a Free ThrowThe Thunder seemed to be taking control of the game in the second half, but lost momentum when Kevin Durant left the game due to foul trouble. Fouls were a big problem for OKC in the game; Miami had 35 attempts from the line and made 31 while the Thunder had 24 attempts and hit just 15. That 16-point edge in points from the line helped Miami overcome a poor shooting night; Oklahoma City's defense held the Heat to 37 percent from the floor.

Don't blame the referees for the disparity. As NBA.com's John Schuhmann points out, many of them were simply dumb basketball plays.

Thunder fans may take some solace from the fact that Miami led last year's NBA Finals series 2-1 as well, but then dropped three straight games to Dallas.

The series resumes on Thursday night in Miami.
