The rebuilding of the Portland Trail Blazers continues with the addition of Meyers Leonard, a center out of Illinois. Leonard has legit NBA size (7-1, 250) and is very athletic and agile. But his game needs a lot of refinement. And the fact that his Illinois teams didn't win very many games (17-15 last season) with such a talented big man is a bit worrisome.
If things to as planned, Leonard will fill out a bit and refine his back-to-the-basket moves to the point that he becomes a very solid complement to power forward LaMarcus Aldridge. Unfortunately, things haven't gone as planned for the Trail Blazers nearly often enough in recent years.
