6 Damian Lillard Portland Trail Blazers

As expected, the Trail Blazers used their first of two lottery picks on the player generally regarded as the best point guard in this draft. Lillard was the second-leading scorer in the NCAA last season, but is a better floor leader than most of the "shooting guard in a point guard's body" types we see coming out of college every year.

Lillard averaged 24.5 points per game as a senior, and shot over 40 percent from three. And at 6-2, he's got very good size for his position.

He'll be asked to contribute right away, as the Blazers have a major void in the backcourt after the expected departures of both Raymond Felton and Jamal Crawford in free agency.

The one concern about Lillard is the level of competition he faced on a regular basis; the Big Sky Conference has little in common with the SEC or Big East. But he certainly wouldn't be the first small-school guard to succeed at the next level.

Lillard is the first senior to be selected in this year's draft.
