A record 24 teams will compete in this year's NBA Summer League in Las Vegas from July 13-23. All but one will represent current NBA franchises - the 24th will be comprised of players from the D-League.
The summer league is an excellent forum for younger players to develop skills and undrafted free agents to win jobs. Jeremy Lin is one example - his play for the Dallas Mavericks' summer league team in 2010 ultimately won him a job with the Golden State Warriors, and caught the eye of several other teams, including the Knicks.
Last year's summer league was cancelled due to the NBA lockout.
