After tonight's loss to the Orlando Magic, the Charlotte Bobcats' record stands at 7-58 overall... that's a putrid winning percentage of just .108... which would be the worst in NBA history.
The worst overall record in league history belongs to the 1972 Sixers, who managed just nine wins in a full 82-game season. The other contenders - including this year's Bobcats - played a schedule that was abbreviated or, in the case of the eight-win 1947-48 Providence Steamrollers - just shorter than today's version.
The Bobcats have one game remaining - Thursday night, at home against the playoff-bound New York Knicks. Another loss would push their overall record to 7-59 (.106)... which would be the worst in the history of the league. It would also run their current losing streak to 23 straight.
- Worst Teams in NBA History.
