12 Jeremy Lamb Houston Rockets

Jeremy Lamb is a very fine player that could develop into an all-star. But he's almost certainly not what Rockets general manager Daryl Morey had in mind.

Morey has been one of the most active executives in the league in the run-up to the 2012 NBA Draft, amassing three picks in the first round. According to reports, he planned to make a play for Orlando's Dwight Howard or trade up for a chance to draft Andre Drummond. Thus far, it seems he's 0-2.

That said, Lamb is a very nice consolation prize. He had an outstanding freshman season, teaming with Kemba Walker to give the Huskies the nation's best backcourt and win the 2011 national title. He didn't really take the next step and become as dominant as expected as a sophomore, leading to concerns about his drive and commitment to getting better. But a season's worth of turmoil in the Connecticut program - and coach Jim Calhoun's extended absence due to health issues - may have been factors in his disappointing season.

Lamb could be expected to play a significant role right away, as the Rockets are expected to part ways with both Kyle Lowry and Kevin Martin before the 2013-14 season tips off.
