Moe Harkless was one of the most productive freshmen in the nation last season, more or less carrying an undermanned St. John's team decimated by unexpected transfers and the illness of coach Steve Lavin. He's regarded as a better-than-average defender and rebounder who could develop into an all-around contributor given time.
The addition of Harkless may free the Sixers to trade Andre Iguodala, as the two players have very similar styles. Iguodala has been on the trading block for the better part of the last two seasons; the emergence of Evan Turner and addition of Harkless may force Philly to pull the trigger.
Harkless went by "Moe" at St. John's, but has recently asked to be referred to by his full name.
