About ten days ago, Jared Sullinger was still regarded as a potential top-ten pick. But reports of medical problems and the possibility of a bulging disc in his back sent the Ohio State power forward's stock dropping faster than Enron's. He could be an absolute steal at 21... or a waste of a first-rounder.
When healthy, Sullinger is an old-school power forward that uses his bulk and strength to score in the paint; a poor man's Elton Brand or Glen "Big Baby" Davis who could give the Celtics much-needed frontcourt depth. And with two picks in the first round, this seems a very reasonable gamble for Danny Ainge to take.
