The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers erased a 16-point deficit in the final five minutes to beat Mississippi Valley State in the 2012 NCAA Tournament's opening "First Four" game in Dayton last night, as President Barack Obama and British prime minister David Cameron looked on from courtside.
Not to be outdone, the BYU Cougars dug their way out of a 25-point hole to beat Iona in the second game. (Obama and Cameron missed that one... they must have been busy running countries or something.)
WKU advances as the sixteen seed in the South Region, and has a date with in-state rival Kentucky on Thursday. BYU will play Marquette in the 3/14 game in the South.
