Orlando Woolridge - a member of Notre Dame's 1978 Final Four team who played professionally for the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers and several other NBA teams - passed away at his parents' house in Louisiana. He was just 52 years old, and had been under hospice care for a heart condition.
A high-scoring forward, Woolridge averaged over 20 points per game four times in his NBA carer, topping out at 25.1 ppg with the 1990-91 Denver Nuggets.
He missed much of the 1987-88 season due to violations of the league's substance abuse policy.
