The Charlotte Bobcats have acquired guard Ben Gordon and a future first-round pick from the Pistons. Oft-injured forward Corey Maggette is headed to Detroit in return.
The deal will help Detroit by clearing Gordon's salary a year earlier... Maggette's deal expires after the upcoming season, while Gordon has a player option for 2013-14. Charlotte gets a future first-rounder and some much-needed scoring punch.
The Bobcats may not be finished; they're reportedly getting quite a few calls about the second overall pick in tonight's NBA Draft.
